The primary focus of this position is to lead and develop strong industrial outside sales representatives (IOSR),driving exceptional customer experience and achieve revenue goals. Coach, lead, and measure sales representatives with respect to goals, metrics, performance, sales skills and techniques.

This position reports to the Sr. Director of Sales for Tank & Pump and functional/dotted line to Regional management.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and Develop IOSR’s and track key performance metrics to improve and IOSR performance.
  • Collaborate with Region and Branch Manager to develop local market strategies, identifying targetaccounts and forecasting market growth.
  • Collaborate with the National/Strategic Team to promote adoption of agreements in local markets andexpansion of opportunities outside of agreements.
  • Provide field-based sales leadership of IOSRs.
  • Ensure effective account strategies, territory planning, selling techniques, product knowledge and use ofCRM, etc.
  • Train new and existing sales representatives
  • Hold sales representatives accountable to established revenue goals
  • Ensure territories are appropriately divided
  • Drive user adoption of and relative tools.
  • Participate in customer meetings and presentations when needed.
  • Facilitate Post job/turnaround review meetings
  • Lead regular sales meetings to stay abreast of market conditions and sales activity. Ensure strong communication between sales team and branch operations to ensure availability of fleet and pricing discipline.
  • Provide strategic input for forecasting revenue for branch and regional leadership.
  • Demonstrate and model strong selling techniques and service expectations.
  • Assist in recruitment, interviewing, selection of IOSR candidates.
  • Local and overnight travel of up to 80%.

  • Minimum requirement of 5 years of outside sales experience with environmental or specialty containment equipment rental.
  • Proven track history of planning, problem-solving and negotiation skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and proficient computer skills with experience using
  • Minimum 1 year of management experience overseeing a team of sales representatives.

  • Professional sales training completed through one of these organizations is a plus but not required: Bay Group, Corporate Visions, Miller Hyman, Challenger.
