ABOUT THE JOB:

WillScot Mobile Mini is offering an opportunity for a Director of Real Estate to join our North American Corporate Real Estate team. This position will work closely with our legal, and construction services teams on both current and proposed WSMM storage and operating locations; acting as an integral team member to ensure effective resource use, project management with responsibility over communications, actions, and project plans for our real estate portfolio.

This is a highly visible role critical to our continued success and growth.

This role will work out of our Phoenix Corporate Office

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Provide strategic recommendations and direction for corporate real estate consolidations, site acquisitions and dispositions, often with incomplete or ambiguous information to drive a proactive approach.
  • Manage concurrently multiple projects at all stages of completion throughout North America.
  • Oversee the facilities management of the Phoenix Corporate Office.
  • Have an ability to understand and effectively engage in evaluations and exercises related to industrial and/or commercial real estate development including due diligence, land acquisition, land entitlements and construction management of both renovations and new construction.
  • Have a clear understanding of civil engineering, architectural, structural and MEP plans for industrial and/or commercial projects.
  • Demonstrate high level of proficiency with construction means and methods for property development.
  • Demonstrate high level of proficiency with zoning/development ordinances and building codes.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with landlords, municipal officials, environmental, health and safety teams and vendors


This role will include travel to project locations across North America with estimated travel up to 50% of the time.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience
  • Minimum 10 years of multiple region experience in industrial or commercial corporate real estate specifically lease management, acquisition, development and construction management. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Project Management programs such as Smartsheets and Microsoft Project.
  • Self-starter; works well with diverse team members in a matrix organization with minimal direction.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate constantly and in varied settings including construction job sites. 
  • Ability to visually inspect properties and builds. Ability to stand, sit, lift up to 50 lbs, climb and navigate uneven surfaces outdoors. 
  • Frequent overnight travel by car or plane.

 
Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • 15 years national experience in industrial or commercial corporate real estate,  specifically, lease management, acquisitions, development and construction management.
  • Project management experience.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions project management experience.
