ABOUT THE JOB:

This role is responsible for the development and implementation of national and local specific strategies with the goals of improving rolling stock utilization and return on investment.  The Logistics Manager will manage tactical projects with a focus on rolling stock strategies related to existing rolling stock fleet including, but not limited to; conversions, substitutions, relocations, large scale redeployments, used sales, and modifications.  The Logistics Manager will develop and maintain a strategic rolling stock fleet plan as a key input for the S&OP process.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of idle rolling stock across North America.
  • Create plans to utilize rolling stock across the business in collaboration with local Field Operations to maximize Rolling Stock Fleet utilization.
  • Own and manage the tactical execution of key rolling stock fleet related business strategies including, but not limited to, field inventory, asset disposition, system data integrity, asset redeployment, online showroom, and other areas as assigned.
  • Monitor and improve upon SOX compliance in all rolling stock fleet related projects and activities.
  • Create and distribute rolling stock fleet data reporting as required.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations teams in identifying deal specific rolling stock to meet customer requirements as required.
  • Review and advise spec for new rolling stock fleet.
  • Perform factory visits and inspections of new production units as required.
  • Ensure that unit modifications do not impair rolling stock valuations.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Management regarding ongoing projects and action plans.
  • Develop and execute asset redeployment plans ensuring that rolling stock fleet asset utilization is optimized while minimizing cost.
  • Assist with general rolling stock training for Field Operations teams.
  • Working with field teams, ensure proper accounting on all rolling stock.
  • Assist with maintaining electronic records of all rolling stock fleet specifications.
  • Manage overall quality control for all managed projects.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of asset management or operations leadership experience.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a corporate environment while collaborating with remote team members.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Strong ability to manage product quality, deadlines, high volume requirements, and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to interact with and effectively manage 3rd party vendors as needed.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent PC proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.  Knowledge of Salesforce and SAP preferred.
