ABOUT THE JOB:

Reporting to Sr. Payroll Manager, the payroll Supervisor will oversees the timely and accurate processing of payrolls. Maintains payroll work calendar, ensuring the timely payment and assists with the reporting of payroll withholdings. Assists with completing quarterly and yearly multi-state tax reports. Acts as liaison to internal departments to provide guidance, build working relationships, and resolve escalated issues.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Payroll processes. Responsible for the processing of multiple payrolls. Monitors compliance with approved policies and procedures.
  • Implements processes that ensure all legally required federal, state and local taxes, Social Security contributions, and other deductions.
  • Supervises a group of payroll staff.
  • Implements improvement to processes, procedures, and workflow to create efficiencies.
  • Ensures accurate accounting and reporting on all payroll related feeds to finance. Performs and oversees accurate, correct, and timely payroll reconciliations and audits, and troubleshoots any issues that arise.
  • Coordinates day-to-day activities and communication between Payroll Department and other internal departments in accordance with set priorities.
  • Provides information on systems and processes, and guidance on issues as appropriate. Escalates high level issues and all service issues to Sr. Payroll Manager.
  • Assist with reconciliation of quarterly and annual federal and state tax reporting, including Forms W-2 and correction reports as required. Stays current, complies with and provides interpretations on various rules, regulations, laws, contracts and policies.
  • Partners with the Payroll, Human Resources, and Legal Departments to review changes in law as they relate to Payroll compliance, paid leave, and tax withholding.
  • Provides backup to other payroll team as needed.
  • Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with payroll processing; multi-state and multi-entity
  • Experience processing Canada payroll is preferred
  • CPP preferred
  • Ability to reconcile tax accounts
  • Experience with ADP SmartCompliance preferred, SAP, SuccessFactors a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and inter-personal skills required
