ABOUT THE JOB:

The Setup Technician – Electrical, Tent Structures participates in the successful installation and readiness of tented fabric structures and value-added products on job sites, either alone or as part of a combination modular installation, with a focus on installing, maintaining and troubleshooting on-site electrical installations (temporary and permanent) in accordance with relevant codes and safety standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

WillScot Mobile Mini Clearspan Setup Technicians will:

  • Maintain unwavering focus on safe execution of all duties
  • Communicate professionally as needed with customers, vendors and contractors
  • Perform duties essential to installing and removing custom fabricated projects, including:
    • Inventory readiness and lay out
    • blocks, steps, anchors, ramps, abs pads or steel piers, footing work
    • interior and exterior seaming or integrations
    • interior or exterior furnishing, lighting, or other utility supporting integration
    • securing items for shipment, cleaning site,
    • customer modifications as approved/assigned
  • Familiarity with local electrical codes and regulations, especially those relevant to temporary installations.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety protocols, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Follow electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine the layout of electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, and identify potential issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain the proper working condition of all tools and equipment used.
  • Complete and submit daily paperwork as required including customer signed lease agreements, inspection sheets, set-up advice.
  • Fully comply with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations

This position will travel to installation or removal sites, sometimes for periods of up to a week or more.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of fabrication, installation or construction trade work
  • Extensive experience with power tools, working at height
  • Unwavering commitment to safety
  • Good communication skills and ability to engage professionally with customers, co-workers, vendors and contractors
  • Ability to travel and work on job sites, occasionally for periods up to _____
  • The ability to work outdoors and at height

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. over significant distances.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to stand and be physically active for hours at a time
  • Outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Some Night / Weekend work required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Experience working on temporary electrical setups for events, concerts, festivals, or other entertainment venues.
  • Knowledge of temporary wiring and power distribution, lighting setups, and sound system installations.
  • Experience with the installation, operation, and maintenance of generators for temporary power needs including understanding of load calculations and distribution for generators.
